Mercedes W177 CarPlay
Here we'll show you how to install Apple CarPlay on a Mercedes A-Class W177 with the NTG 6.0 system.

Equipment required: T20 torx screwdriver.

Installation time: 30-40 minutes

Inventory: CarPlay module and cabling.
This includes the module, a wifi antenna, 2 LVDS (video) cables, the power cable and a USB cable (no need to plug it in if you're using the device wirelessly).

STEP 1: REMOVING THE CAR RADIO

The first step is to remove the cover under the steering wheel.

There are now 4 Torx T20 screws to remove.

Once the plastic cover has been removed, the car radio is now visible, so there's no need to dismantle it. It remains accessible.

STEP 2: CONNECTION

quadlock connection
Remove the purple LVDS (video) plug from its connector, as well as the power supply plug (called QUADLOCK).

This purple plug goes into the LVDS IN part module.

Then plug in the yellow LVDS plug instead of the original one.

And finally, simply disconnect the power supply plug (called QUADLOCK) and plug in the KIT plug instead. It's a simple BY-PASS.

STEP 3: TEST

Press the BACK button for 3 seconds on your Mercedes A-Class 177 pad.

The menu appears, select what you wish to use: Apple CarPlay, Android Auto or Mirror Screen.

We've chosen Apple CarPlay, which will launch by default (without the previous menu). To choose Android Auto, for example, return to the main menu.

If you don't have an original camera, you can also install one. The result is just perfect, it's a handle camera, like the original one, visible HERE.
