CarPlay installation tutorial on Alfa Romeo Stelvio

We will see here in pictures how to install Apple CarPlay on an Alfa Romeo Stelvio.

Hardware needed: a T20 torx screwdriver + a pipe wrench.

Installation time: 30-40 minutes

Inventory: CarPlay module and wiring.
This includes the module, a wifi antenna, 2 LVDS (video) cables, the power cable, the sound cable, and a USB cable (do not plug it in if using the wireless device).

STEP 1: REMOVAL OF THE PLASTIC COVER UNDER THE STEERING WHEEL

 Open the bag opener.

A screw to remove in the pocket.

Then 3 screws to be able to take out the car radio.

STEP 2: DISMANTLING THE ALFA ROMEO STELVIO CAR RADIO

Remove the 2 screws holding the station.

Remove the original purple-colored video jack from the radio's large power jack (Quadlock).

STEP 3: CONNECTIONS

Connect the quadlock plug to the by-pass.

Connect the other side to the station.

Do the same for the video connectors.

STEP 4: ENJOY

You can test by pressing the MENU button on the joystick for 2-3 seconds, it switches to the CarPlay interface.
