Carplay installation tutorial on Audi Q2

We will see here in pictures how to install Apple Carplay on an Audi Q2. Tutorial also valid for Audi A3, A4, A5, A6, A7, Q5, Q7.

Necessary material: a screwdriver or ratchet with bit 8.

Installation time: 20-30 minutes

Inventory: Carplay module and wiring.
This includes the module, a wifi antenna, 2 LVDS (video) cables, the power cable, the auxiliary cable, and a USB cable (no need to plug it in if using the wireless device).

STEP 1: DISASSEMBLING THE GLOVE BOX

Remove the cover with a spatula.

One screw to remove.

3 screws at the top.

2 screws at the bottom of the glove box

Now remove the unit with the SD card(s) from the glove box using 2 extraction keys.

Remove the case.

And unplug the connectors.

The glove box is now disassembled. We now move on to the connection.

STEP 2: CONNECTION

The connection is very simple. 2 video cables and a power outlet.

Pull it up.

STEP 3: TEST

Press BACK 3 seconds to display the menu.

We chose Apple Carplay which will launch by default (without the previous menu), to choose Android Auto for example, go to the AUDI application.
