LAUNCHING CARPLAY IN A PIONEER SET: HOW DO YOU DO IT?

To achieve this, you need to have the right hardware. That is, at least a 5th generation iPhone. After that, you should make sure that your Pioneer set-top box has Apple Carplay installed, otherwise it would be impossible to launch the application. If your Pioneer's decoder has Apple Carplay on board, all you have to do is connect the iPhone to the vehicle's interface. This process can be done in two stages. On the one hand, it is the wired connection and the wireless one on the other hand.

The wired connection

This is the most common method used on Pioneer units. It consists of using the smartphone's cable to plug it into the car radio's USB port. Once connected, the classic Pioneer display will automatically switch to the Apple interface. From that point on, Carplay is now functional and you can execute the commands of your choice. 

The wireless connection

This connection method requires the Bluetooth to be turned on on the various devices to be paired. Some Pioneer models do not have this feature (don't panic, the first method is therefore recommended). As long as you have Bluetooth mode on your car radio, you will need to establish the connection between the two devices in order to benefit from Carplay.
