We will see here in pictures how to install Apple Carplay on a Dodge Challenger SRT
Required hardware: a T20 torx and Phillips screwdriver.
Installation time: 2-3 hours.
Inventory: 1 Carplay module, 1 electronic circuit, wiring.
So we count 1 module, 1 electronic board, flexible tablecloths, a wifi antenna, 2 LVDS (video) cables, the power cable, the auxiliary cable, and a USB cable (no need to plug it if you use the device wirelessly).
STEP 1: DISASSEMBLE THE CAR RADIO
For example, use a plastic spatula to leverage the plastic spacer.
You can now remove the set.
STEP 2: REMOVAL OF THE SCREEN
4 screws hold the screen.
STEP 3: CONNECTION
Carefully pull out the screen and unplug all the connectors on the back.
Install the tablecloth and the printed circuit in the screen. Video on demand.
STEP 4: TEST
Press the button behind your steering wheel or press and hold directly on the touch screen.
The menu appears, select what you want to use: Apple Carplay, Android Auto or Mirror Screen.
We chose Apple Carplay which will launch by default (without the previous menu), to choose Android Auto for example or even Mirror Link.
